Umojah Sound System

Umojah Sound System was started in 2016 by a group of reggae heads and sound system addicts, It is the first of its kind and is currently the only reggae / dub style sound system built in Kenya. After spending several years pushing the roots & culture movement in Kenya they decided it was time to build and deliver the conscious vibes over the mighty sound system, Thus Umojah Sound System was born. The name “Umojah” is a combination of the words “Umoja” meaning unity in Swahili (The country’s native language) and “Jah” to represent the virtues of roots & culture. We give thanks for the opportunity to welcome roots & culture as well as sound system culture into the East African music scene.
